Peaceful breathing - I find that incorporating a mindfulness element to the breath such as a mantra and mudra to be very grounding and soothing during stressful situations.

My favorite breath technique is the 3 part breath. I find it incredibly down regulating. So much so that I can find myself doing it for a long extended period of time and not even realize I was sitting there for 5, 10, 15+ minutes.

Nasal breathing - plain and simple - there are so many important health benefits to always breathing through the nose rather than the mouth. I love bee breathing (brahmari) because it is so good for opening the sinuses and making nasal breathing more accessible. And there is nothing like the deep, restorative practice of breathing into the side ribs and then into the low back lobes of the lungs.
